This week's jobs follow along from the wardrobe declutter you (hopefully) did a couple of weeks ago. Don't worry if you didn't do it, this week's tasks will help you get started.
We are tackling hangers and storage items.
I have a separate blog about which types of hangers you should use. Head to my website to read it.
If You Have 5 Minutes
Quick check: Scan your wardrobe for broken, tangled, or unused hangers. Remove any that aren’t in good condition.
Declutter excess: If you always have more hangers than clothes, set some aside for donation or repurposing.
If You Have 30 Minutes
Sort by type: Group plastic, wire, and wooden hangers. Keep the ones that suit your clothing best and ditch flimsy or unnecessary ones.
Organise storage boxes: Empty a drawer, shelf, or storage bin. If it’s full of forgotten items, decide what to keep, donate, or throw away.
If You Have Longer
Upgrade storage: Swap mismatched hangers for slim, non-slip ones to save space. Use boxes or dividers to keep accessories, shoes, and seasonal clothes neatly stored.
Rehome extras: Donate spare hangers to charity shops (please check if they want them first), dry cleaners, or friends who need them. Some supermarkets have recycling points for any unwanted ones. I managed to give mine away on Olio, an app for donating unwanted items.
This Week’s Challenge: Declutter 10 hangers and organise one storage space. A little effort makes a big difference.
Happy organising!
