Because even your smallest items deserve attention—time to tidy up your drawers!
If You Have 5 Minutes
Quick scan: Open your underwear drawer and quickly pull out anything with holes, stretched elastic, or that no longer fits comfortably. Toss or recycle these items if possible.
Sock check: Match up socks and set aside any lonely or worn-out ones for repurposing or disposal.
If You Have 30 Minutes
Sort by type: Take everything out of your drawer and group your underwear by category—everyday basics, bras, shapewear, or special occasion items.
Assess condition: Examine each item for wear and tear. Bras with broken underwire or faded colours, or underwear that’s lost its elasticity? Time to let them go.
Organise neatly: Fold or roll items for a tidy drawer and stack similar types together. Use drawer dividers or small boxes to separate categories for easy access.
If You Have Longer
Full drawer refresh: Try on bras and lingerie to ensure they still fit well and provide the support or comfort you need. Be honest—if it’s uncomfortable or outdated, it’s not worth keeping.
Repurpose thoughtfully: Reuse old items like socks or cotton underwear as cleaning rags or craft materials. Some organisations, like recycling programmes, also accept worn-out textiles.
Plan replacements: Take note of gaps in your collection—like needing a nude bra for certain outfits or fresh everyday basics. Treat yourself to high-quality replacements that last.
Did You Know?
In the UK, brands like Marks & Spencer offer bra recycling schemes, where your old bras can be reused or recycled. Many charity shops also accept gently used bras to support initiatives in developing countries.
This Week’s Challenge:
Declutter 5 pieces of underwear or socks that are no longer serving you. Enjoy the confidence that comes with a tidy, functional collection and make space for new favourites.
Here’s to a more organised start to the day!
